A long weekend is ideal for this because the creative process requires frequent test-fitting and structural adjustments. Use high-quality polystyrene sheets and rods to scratch-build custom brackets, armor plating, or structural frames. The key to successful kitbashing is maintaining scale consistency across all integrated components. Working with PE requires specialized tools, including a dedicated bending jig, a sharp hobby knife, and a hard cutting surface like glass. Cut each piece away from the fret leaving a tiny tab, then file the remaining burr smooth with a diamond file. Because plastic cement will not bond metal to plastic, you must use cyanoacrylate (super glue) or clear acrylic gel medium for attachment.
